Cannabidiol or CBD is a compound found in cannabis, which, unlike THC, has no psychotic effect. Although this compound does not cause the so-called "high" it definitely caused a great stir in medical environments, therapists as well as among those suffering from many diseases, which CBD can bring so long-awaited relief or support current treatments for diseases such as chronic pain, neoplastic diseases, Crohn's syndrome, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, post-traumatic stress disorder, cardiovascular disease, anxiety, antibiotic-resistant infections, schizophrenia, depression and many more. CBD works in the human body on many levels, affecting many processes occurring in it. Pre-clinical and clinical studies conducted so far, show that CBD has a strong anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-epileptic, anti-depressant, antipsychotic, neuroprotective effect and leads to the reduction of tumors. CBD can modify gene expression and remove amyloid plaques from nerve cells that are responsible for the development of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's.

CBD oil is a natural extract obtained from hemp flowers. It is characterized by the predominant amount of CBD in the composition, not THC-in Poland, the maximum allowable concentration of THC is 0.2%. The extract is obtained by means of three basic methods:

  • extraction using solvents such as butane, hexane, ethanol or isopropyl.
  • extraction with supercritical carbon dioxide
  • the oldest method and at the same time the least efficient or extraction in oil (usually used is olive oil or coconut oil)

CBD oils differ mainly in the degree of processing, the cannabinoid profile and the content of terpenes.

Most CBD products are taken orally in the form of drops under the tongue, where they should be kept for about a minute and then swallowed. CBD ointments are also effective, which can be successfully replaced with CBD oil during surface treatment, which usually has a higher concentration of CBD - thus exhibiting a stronger surface effect.

Products containing hemp derived CBD are legal in most european countries (if THC level is under 0,2%). When it comes to non-eu states please check Your local hemp legislation.

Yes. CBD is a safe substance. Previous studies, both on humans and on animals, have shown that CBD is a safe compound to use, which also increases its therapeutic potential. CBD was also examined for side effects - no major effects were found except for the slowdown and nausea. Daily doses up to 1500 mg were well tolerated by humans. CBD does not cause narcotic effects in the case of humans and animals. CBD may interact with drugs. CBD is metabolized using the cytochromatic P450 enzymatic system. Therefore, it may affect the increase or decrease in blood levels of metabolites of drugs broken down in the liver.

Based on in vitro data, the effect of CBD inhibition of intestinal p-glycoprotein can not be ruled out. Therefore, caution is advised during concomitant treatment with digoxin and other medicinal products that are substrates for p-glycoprotein. Caution should be exercised when using medicinal products that are hypnotic, sedative and have a potential sedative effect due to the possible additive effect on sedatives and to reduce muscle tone.

The main difference is the permissible THC content in the plant. Cannabis is characterized by high concentrations of THC, while the permissible content of THC in hemp varies depending on local legislation from max.0,2% to 0,6%. Cannabis sowing, apart from being a source of legal CBD oil, also constitute material in many branches of industry, eg in the paper, textile, food and even construction industry.

The CBD itself does not have a psychoactive effect and the THC level is under 0,2%, so the consumption of CBD oil does not cause a state commonly known as "high"

For prophylactic use, the recommended dose is 2-4 drops under the tongue 2-3 times a day. It is recommended to increase the dose until the desired effect is achieved. In most cases, doses of 10-50 mg of CBD per day are sufficient, although higher doses are also used.

The Essenz CBD oil is not subjected to additional treatment after supercritical CO2 extraction. For this reason, all compounds naturally occurring in the plant remain unchanged in our extract. The chlorophyll corresponds to the green color, which in itself carries many theraputic values. Chlorophyll is a substance which according to research has curative properties in the case of anemia. In addition, chlorophyll supports the work of our organs, especially the thyroid and adrenal glands, supports the cleansing of the body and has a strong antioxidant effect.

Butter, olive oil or coconut oil with the addition of cbd oil are perfect for cooking.

Yes. There are thousands of medical / scientific research on CBD activity. All of them can be found on the ProjectCBD website - research texts in English.

Yes. CBD in the form of oil or ointments, used on the surface, soothes and even eliminates the symptoms of skin diseases. Recommended is a person suffering from psoriasis, eczema, atopic dermatitis and acne.

Consuming good quality CBD oil should not be the case. Studies have shown that only a person who consumed 6 mg of THC during the day has a 25% chance of a positive drug test result. In the case of the Polish standard of acceptable THC content at 0.2% THC, about 3000 mg of legal CBD oil should be consumed in one day, which translates to approximately 30 ml.

CBD is neuroprotective and promotes regeneration of nerve cells. The activity that stimulates or increases the efficiency of the nervous system has not been demonstrated.

At present, CBD oil is available mainly in the online sales channel, in herbal stores, in health food stores and in stores specializing in the sale of hemp products and in pharmacies.

Studies have shown that not only people are equipped with an endocannabinoid system. Most vertebrates also have it, including cats and dogs. This similarity led to the statement that our favorites may also benefit from the beneficial effects of CBD supplementation. Research on the impact of CBD on our pets' organisms are currently in the early stages. CBD oil has proven effects in the treatment of epilepsy and osteoporosis in dogs. Products with CBD have a general pro-health effect. CBD is a natural product that can be successfully used as a healthy supplement to the diet of our pet.

CBD administered to animals should be obtained from hemp and not from cannabis. The CBD obtained from both varieties is the same compound, however the extracted extract significantly differs in the content of psychoactive THC. The administration of psychoactive substances to animals is not legal or safe - it will be advisable to use in CBD supplementation obtained from hemp sowing, which together with other substances occurring at that time is not dangerous for the animal.

CBD in the form of oil or snacks is easy to administer. Doses, as in the case of humans, can not be accurately determined, although it should be much smaller considering the differences in body weight.

When reading about the CBD, we often do not notice that it occurs in two forms: in the acid form of CBD and in the form lacking the carboxylic group (-COOH) CBD. The acidic form of CBD (cannabidiol acid) occurs naturally in the plant in a much higher concentration than the CBD. In general, CBDa is a precursor to CBD and has no psychoactive effect as well as CBD. Once CBDa was considered to be a compound that had no coherent action in the human body, but as the research progressed, this position changed. CBD's health-related activities are still not fully explored

Cannabidiol acid (CBDa) turns into CBD during a process called decarboxylation. Decarboxylation is a chemical reaction whose catalyst is the heat of which CBD is separated from the carboxyl group (-COOH) and carbon dioxide (CO2) is released. Speaking in simple language, heating turns CBD into CBD.

To get the so-called gold CBD oil, the extract must undergo a complex filtration process, during which all other substances are removed from the solution, except for cannabinoids, naturally occurring in hemp (including chlorophyll and vegetable waxes).
